Normandy Cycle Tours: Founded by Peter and Valerie Turner, Normandy Cycle Tours provide escorted cycling holidays for small groups of up to 16 people. Each holiday lasts six or seven days and is based in a single location with cycling on five or six days. The locations are typically country houses or hotels de charme based in the countryside or in small villages.
Each day, a set route is provided, and is cycled in a group with a leader. A typical route is around 30 miles a day. However, there are short cuts for people who want to cycle less and long cuts for the keener cyclist. Even though it is a group holiday, people are free to cycle on their own if they chose to, or at a slower or faster pace than the rest of the group. The main purpose is enjoyment – it is not a race, or a competition to see who can cycle the most!
Each route is chosen for its scenery, interesting places to see and visit, and above all, we have selected routes that are by and large traffic free. You may have to make way for the odd tractor, but not much else!
